Customer Service Representative / Insurance Agent

Customer Service Representatives / Insurance Agents are responsible for handling multiple types of customer experience inquiries, resolving service concerns, documenting customer requests, and completing changes to policies. Other responsibilities of a Customer Service Representative may also include:

  • Performing administrative tasks
  • Attending meetings, seminars and programs to learn about new products and services, learning new skills, and receiving technical assistance in developing new accounts
  • Provide various types of insurance policies to businesses and individuals
  • Calculating premiums and establishing payment methods
  • Communicating with customers through phone calls, texts, email and other forms of communication
  • Communicating with underwriting departments and submitting forms
  • Customizing insurance programs to suit individual customers
  • Ensuring that policy requirements are fulfilled, including the completion of appropriate forms
  • Explaining features, advantages and disadvantages of various policies
  • Seeking out new clients and developing clientele by networking to find new customers and generating lists of prospective clients
  • Get licensed or obtain continuing education courses for licensing purposes

To effectively perform the duties of a Customer Service Representative/ Insurance agent, individuals must be able to demonstrate a number of competencies that are essential to the position, which include:

  • Bilingual (Spanish/ English) Required
  • Basic computer knowledge; ability to type 20+ WPM
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally
  • Be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently
  • Be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality
  • Be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback
  • Reliable transportation

Education/Licensing:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 0 - 6 months Customer Service / Insurance / Sales Experience (preferred)
  • Valid County Mutual, Limited Lines or Property & Casualty License in Texas (preferred)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Regional Manager

The Regional manager's main duty will be to oversee the improved production of the district managers and their stores. The Regional Manager will work with the corporate executives to review sales production results and store operations.

  • Manages multiple locations with agents and District managers within a geographic zone
  • Oversee production reports to make sure that results are being entered and review the results with the district managers
  • Visit with District Managers daily and assist in sales coaching
  • Work with district managers to review their store's production and make sure the processes are being followed
  • Assist in interviews and approval of applicants
  • Assist with onboarding or offboarding when necessary
  • Perform evaluations of district managers and oversee their evaluations of their reps
  • Give suggestions for changes to processes to corp. executives
  • Make sure that "Now Hiring" signs are being placed in Districts that are short staffed
  • Handle escalated customer complaints and issues
  • Assist in finding locations for possible future stores
  • Stay up to date on insurance company policies and procedures
  • Discuss monthly goals with Managers and Agents to formulate strategies to accomplish goals and meet monthly targets
  • Flexible to travel within their zone and outside of their zone for training and cross audit purposes

Education/Experience and Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED, Some College preferred
  • 1 - 2 years Customer Service/ Insurance Sales Experience required
  • 2 - 3 years of Lead/ Supervisory experience, preferre
  • County Mutual License required, Property & Casualty (P&C) preferred

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitors sales goals and procedures as appropriate for each manager and store based on goals set for each location and the whole zone
  • Designs and recommends regional sales and marketing promotions and sets short and long-term retail sales strategies for the zone
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Responsible for hiring and training all retail employees/staff
  • Promotes positive attitude to ensure excellent customer service skills are being utilized when Agents are interacting with our customers as well as with the other Agents daily

District Manager

The District Manager is responsible for ensuring all required tasks for all locations are carried out by all employees in his/her designated zone. The District Manager is responsible for additional tasks delegated by and reports directly to the Regional Manager and manages and directs a sales force to achieve sales and profit goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manages multiple locations with agents designated within a geographic zone
  • Screen applicants, interview, and hire new agents
  • Promote positive attitude to ensure excellent customer service skills are being utilized when Agents are interacting with customers as well as with the other team members
  • Manage staff members by by setting goals, giving performance evaluations, and providing staff members with training opportunities and guidance
  • Monitoring agents for attendance and other disciplinary issues, such as cell phone use, personal calls, and employee performance of job function
  • Create and implement weekly work schedule for agents
  • Handles any escalated customer service issues that may arise
  • Direct and observe Agents to ensure performance of tasks and customer service levels are being met

  • Able to work independently with minimal/no supervision
  • Ability to quickly learn any Company/ Proprietary software is necessary
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
